Here at Maxwell Hodge, we offer an initial advice appointment of up to 1 hour.
How can we help you?
We offer a Fixed Fee Consultation (up to 1 hour) to advise generally on any family matter.
We can also provide you with an advice letter or a more detailed consultation depending on your situation.
This service can therefore be tailored to you.
Our Family Team can advise you on various matters including:
- The Divorce process and timescales involved.
- Agreeing a financial settlement by consent, including negotiations.
- Contentious financial claims arising out of divorce proceedings and the court process.
- Children cases, including contact and financial provision.
- Separation / Cohabitation Agreements and TOLATA Claims.
- Pre and Post-Nuptial Agreements.
- Injunctions and Non-Molestation Orders.
What are the benefits of a consultation appointment?
A consultation appointment allows you to obtain initial advice from a legal professional.
It is an opportunity for you to discuss your matter in confidence and gain clarity on any queries you may have. We recommend coming prepared with questions so that you can make the most of your allotted time. Our team can review any necessary documents ahead of your initial consultation if necessary.
The consultation will provide you with initial advice as we will outline your current legal position and discuss possible next steps and options with you, allowing you to move forward, feeling confident and supported. We will also provide you with an outline of the likely costs to be incurred in your case.
You are not bound to continue with the mater or instruct Maxwell Hodge further after this appointment, however our Team will discuss the next steps with you to bring you on as a client should you wish for us to carry your case forward.
How will the appointment take place?
We offer:
- In person appointments – consultations are available at all offices if booked in advance. Our Team will travel to your local office for your convenience, at no extra cost to you.
- Telephone appointments.
- Video call appointments via MS Teams.
This means you can pick whichever method suits you.
The meeting will last up to 1 hour, providing you with the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarity.
What if I wanted to proceed after the initial appointment?
We understand that family matters involve not only complex legal issues but also the emotions of you and your loved ones. For these reasons, family matters are difficult to navigate alone. That is why we are here to provide each individual situation with detailed legal guidance, empathy and support to guide you through the process.
Should you wish to instruct Maxwell Hodge following your initial consultation, we will provide you with all the necessary information, including a breakdown of estimated costs, timescales, and a confirmation of the work we are instructed to carry out. We value transparency throughout, and this begins with our thorough client care package.
You will be required to sign the relevant forms of authority before we can assist you following the consultation.
Whether you are going through a separation, a divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership, attempting to reach a financial resolution between you and an ex-partner, or require general representation at a hearing, we are here to help you.
